We are a periodontal practice, meaning we specialize in treating anything to do with the gums and bone surrounding your teeth. We are also specialists in placing dental implants. Our number one priority at all times is saving teeth and returning you to full oral health!
We started Dallas Periodontal Associates in 2001 to provide the highest quality treatment using state-of-the-art technology in a friendly and caring atmosphere. That philosophy is the foundation of everything we do.
Dr. Tanur and Dr. Ovadia are meticulous in diagnosis and planning so your treatment will be the highest standard and efficiently delivered. Dr. Tanur and Dr. Ovadia always listen to your concerns and answer all your questions so you feel at ease. They take the time to educate you on your treatments so you are well informed and know what to expect. They also educate you in home oral care so you can maintain your oral health after treatment. Patients repeatedly tell us they feel like part of the family when they are here.

Gentle, comfortable and minimally invasive treatment
Our minimally invasive treatment methods are very efficient and cause minimal post-operative discomfort. We use a gentle laser wherever possible for gum treatments and add growth proteins with a PRF (platelet rich fibrins) treatment to surgically treat tissues to prevent infection, reduce swelling and speed healing time. Our ultrasonic scalers used for cleanings can be adjusted for patient comfort.
When injections are needed, we numb the injection site with a topical anesthetic first. The anesthetic is warmed to body temperature and the injections are administered slowly and gently so they are comfortable. Dr. Tanur and Dr. Ovadia always make sure you are completely informed and feel at ease about what is going to happen before they start any procedure. We provide blankets, pillows and headphones for added comfort in the chair.

State-of-the-art technology
Our doctors use the latest in advanced technology to help achieve the best possible results. This increases the accuracy and speed of diagnosis, planning and treatment.
Our digital X-rays are more detailed than standard film X-rays and emit far less radiation than traditional X-ray devices. Our cone beam 3D CT scanner produces 3D images of your entire jaw structure, teeth and gums. We use these images for detailed diagnosis and for precisely planning the placement of your dental implants. This makes your implant placement quick, accurate and minimally invasive.
Our laser and radiosurgery devices are much less invasive and more precise than standard instruments and are used in many of our gum treatments.
